CHAIRMANS CHAT
Hi Fellow members
The committee and me in particular do apologise for our failure to get our website updated each month, I did mention my lack of computer skills. Well two computers two printers and a lot of advice from good intentional friends here we are. We had results from Easter and the National then the computer would go blank...start again then blank again, then get over a virus. Sorted now at last.
The committee realise the knock on effect of the economic climate which has put family finances under pressure not just L&C but many other clubs and pastimes.
The Hotline is still open and you can email Hazel and Neal or any of the committee for the committee to put on an event. We need a full week (no money) just email or ring to book in. Then check in on Friday to check if event has moved or cancelled.
Hazel has mentioned a club meeting in January to discuss Easter planning and the clubs future events which we hope many of you will attend.
Check with the ALRC website for updates on the national at Stainby, further details may be given after the ALRC EGM and scrutineers meeting. I was disappointed with the ALRC councils help to Wye&Welsh, they did a good job for a small club.
Paul Simons amd Phil Wood are representing L&C at Lincs this coming weekends comp. Ben Parkes motor will be ready for Easter and Peter Barrance has been hard at it so I'm told. Both have been sadly missed. Congratulations to Graham Pink he ended up in the trophies in a triple entered 80" his two sons are in NERO. Graham is a very or very old L&C member and the competition within his family is fantastic, good on you.

2013 Wrap Up - Hazel
As 2013 draws to a close its been another quiet year of events for us. We had a very successful event at Easter at Mow Cop - turning a profit (albeit small) for the first time.
We are now a smaller club than in previous years, with many of our competitors needing to take time away from the sport.
With this in mind for 2014 we intend to co-run as many events as possible with other neighbouring clubs.
A presentation / social Sunday lunch will be scheduled foe late January (date to be confirmed).
At this moment we are planning to run Easter 2014 again but do appreciate any thoughts the membership may have before further organising.
The ALRC National rally will be held in May at Stainby near Grantham. See www.alrc.co.uk for further details as they come available.

AGM REPORT 3rd Feb 2013
Last years committee is still in place. Just like the rest of the country we have been dogged by uncertainty for over a year. The weather has not helped, double booking by land owners and getting information to put on the web page was difficult.
The financial climate is very tight for everyones family budget. We have tried sending texts to those we have numbers for. Yes cancelling an event just as you loaded up is not helpful and we apologise, but that's how quickly we got the message from the C.ofC. who had picked up the canes, driven 50 miles and found it double booked.
All that is behind us, the committee do apologise but they have worked hard. The HOT LINE is still in place if you can volunteer with some of the work it would be helpful.
We have a program of proposed events which will be confirmed on 24th Feb.
24th Feb 2p.m.Afternoon Social and presentation at the Roe Cross Inn. Carvery laid on but prior booking for numbers needed. So ring, text, or email to Hazel.
Colin Gaukroger is negotiating with one of our land owners for Easter. Paul Atkinson has volunteered to set out the C.C.V. which will be fantastic, he is a very good respected driver. More details on the 24th Feb. Other officials will be announced at that time.
Scrutineering – Very lively discussion.
The new Green Books are out, come and get yours on the 24th Feb.
Spats are a must covering the wheels Front & Back by 120 degrees for all Comp. CCV. RTV. There is also confusion over the use of hand brakes and type. We will un-confuse A.S.A.P. details and sketches of what is required will be available.
Your comments with regard to all the above are very welcome. Lancs and Cheshire is open for business.
There is a link for this years National in South Wales organised by Wye & Welsh on the ALRC web page. www.alrc2013.co.uk Hope to see you there.
Stop press- Colin Has been successful in negotiating with the Land Owner and the Easter event will be at MOW COP more details on the 24th

L&C NEWSHEET August 2013
Dear Members
Despite the club getting off to a good start with our Easter event at Mow Cop, you must know that the club has had several issues this year with the economy being very high up on the list, the very high cost of fuel, rule changes, new land owners and lack of motors due to racing incidents. All ALRC clubs have been affected, not just L&C. The committee has been working hard attending ALRC and scrutineering meetings, rule change affects everyone.
L&C has been involved since the Green Book was first written and it's important that our club and other northern clubs work together to stem the amount of rule changes that are taking place.
Land has been a very big issue for us over the last few years due to change of owners but we are hoping that next year we will be able to return to one or two old grounds. Negotiating with land owners takes time and patience.
Please remember to use the club Hotline for updates on events and to let us know in good time if you are going to attend, we need a week beforehand to verify if we have enough competitors to have a good competition and justify the cost of the land.
The committee needs help to run events and all members are welcome at all committee meetings. If you can contribute please come forward, your input would be most welcome.
On a brighter note, the club has a few up and coming trailers who have been involved at Tyro level, so, if you are up to the challenge why not come along and take part. In the past few years, the club has paid the entry fees for the Majors Trial. The committee is split on this, some members are asking 'what about the comp safari lads fees being paid'. Scrutineering – We have the best in the country ALRC and MSA Colin Gaukroger has done excellent work over the years, unfortunately some of our neighbours don't support our efforts and we must stand firm as a club. We do need to show a presence at all events including interclubs. We have done well in all classes, RTV, CCV and Comps and may it continue. We need to nurture our up and coming drivers and they need your expertise to show them how it's done.
The clubs history speaks for itself. L&C has produced some of the best drivers in the country, but to win at interclubs and at national level we need to practice at club level. The committee is putting together a full calendar for 2014 and hope to run our annual Easter event as normal.
We have a number of bulletin points which the committee are always discussing and we need input from yourselves on these.
1) Toilets – These cost an incredible amount of money. Can we manage without? Any suggestions?
2) Can we use emails for future information – the cost of post/print is prohibitive
3) Fun weekend in Sept?. at Mow Cop with BBQ and games. Promotional event, non members with 4x4's welcome- do we go ahead? What DO YOU think.
4) Do we pay entry fees for our competitors at some interclubs?
Have YOU any points you wish to bring up? Please email us.

As Chairman, am I allowed one quiet rant.- If I had to rely on a mobile phone and a computer I would have packed in in 1972. H
